Betty Lou Paulsen, most recently a resident of Parkview Estates, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, July 17, 2012. She will be remembered for her cheery "hi, hi" greeting and the smile that lit up her face. Betty was born March 25, 1926 in Mandan, North Dakota. During the 1930's, her family moved to Seattle, Washington. Betty married Jerry Paulsen in January, 1951 and they went on to have four daughters. Betty and Jerry lived in Seattle, Washington, Corvallis, Oregon, Fairfax, Virginia, Redmond, Washington, and Lacey, Washington before Betty moved to Kennewick. Prior to retirement Betty worked as a secretary. After retiring, she enjoyed knitting, reading and volunteer work, especially in her local grade school. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Jerry and her daughter, Linda. She is survived by daughters Barbara Edwards, Judy Chambers, and Karen Gates as well as seven grandchildren and one great grandson. In memory of Betty, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association. Betty's daughters would like to thank Hospice, Home Health Care Solutions and Parkview Estates for the wonderful care they gave Betty in her final days.
