Boyd Reeder Nelson passed away in his Goldendale home on May 21, 2005.Boyd was born October 19, 1942, in Logan, Utah, to parents Mark and Hortense ReederNelson. He graduated from Logan High School in 1961 and continued his schooling at Utah State. He later finished his AA degree in Electronic Engineering Technology in 1988. He was a Master Certified Diesel Mechanic.His hobbies included sports, reading, hunting, fishing, helping and spending time with his family and friends. He was known for telling stories in great detail and helping others. He never knew a stranger.He enjoyed serving others, expecially family members, and was most recently spending this time finishing his daughter's basement and helping his brother remodel his home.He is survived by his wife, Sandra Ferguson Nelson; his children Dee Nelson of Portland, OR; Glenn Stacy Nelson of Kearnes, Utah; Jeff Penny Nelson of West Linn, OR; Kyle Nelson of Mead, CO; fifteen grandchildren; and siblings Mark Nelson, Courtney Nelson, Diane Justus, Rodney Nelson and fifteen nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.Services will be held on Tuesday, May 31st at 10 A.m. in Goldendale, Washington, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A reception for friends and family will be at the Church following services. Graveside services will be held at the Riverview Heights Cemetery, 1200 South Olympia Kennewick, Washington at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Service arrangements are being handled by Hillcrest Memorial Center, Kennewick 509 737-9717.
