Obituary

Doris Elaine (Dempsey) Brickey, 69, from Pasco, Wa passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House in Kennewick, WA on Sunday, November 13th, 2016.  She is together again with her husband, Michael F. Brickey, Sr. who passed away in March of 2012. Mike and Doris had a whirlwind romance starting April 2nd, 1966, only to be married a few short months later on July 30th, 1966.  They loved each other unconditionally and will now be together forever.  They lived most of their life in Burbank, WA where they were well known by the community.  In the years they lived in Burbank, they raised 2 children, Michael and Cheryl, gained many friendships and made so many memories in that little town they called home. Doris graduated from Pasco High School in 1965. Doris had many jobs during her lifetime, but only a couple standout.  The job she loved the most was when she managed the Burbank Tavern.  She always treated everybody who came in like family.  She spent her remaining years working for Fluor Hanford as an Oracle Database Administrator before retiring in 2008. In her retirement, she enjoyed spending time visiting with her friends and playing bingo. In years past, she enjoyed bowling, playing shuffleboard and shooting pool on a league for the Burbank Tavern.  During her last years, she enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Nathan, and her spunky dog, Rusty.  Her granddaughters Angel, Faith and Hope who live in Rome, GA were also a huge part of her life, although, she didn't get to see them as much as she'd have liked.  She loved all of her grandchildren dearly. She had an infectious smile that filled up the room.  She was known for her quick wit and great sense of humor.  She will be greatly missed by many. She is survived by her children Michael F. Brickey, Jr of Rome, GA and Cheryl Brickey (Rick) of Kennewick, WA; grandchildren Nathan Brickey and Angel, Faith and Hope Brickey; brothers and sisters Jim Dempsey, Judy Ross (Larry), Lyla Poland (Dennis), Darrell Dempsey and sister-in-law Mary as well as many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael F. Brickey, Sr., parents Harry and Larrain Dempsey, parents-in-law Kenneth and Delores Brickey, nieces Wendy Shipler and Michelle Ross and nephew Travis Reed.
