Ellen Jacques-Chapman, 87, passed away on Aug. 3, 2008 at home in Kennewick, WA. She was a Tri-Cities resident for the last 35 years. She was born on July 11, 1921 in Saguache County, CO to Douglas Frederick Barlen and Mary O'Fallon. On Aug. 26 of 1939, Imogene married Ivan M. Jacques, whom she later divorced. She then married Clifford Chapman on Dec. 7th of 1994, after 21 years of single life. She was a homemaker, business woman and involved in the Kennewick General Hospital Auxiliary Guild. She enjoyed bowling, crafts, and watercolors. She is survived by her son, Leroy Jacques of Arlington, WA; Alan L. Jacques of Louisville, CO; James M. Jacques of Portland, OR; and daughter, Colleen Kerby of Kennewick, WA. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren, David Jacques, Marianne Pauley, Ian West, Nancy Jacques, James I. Jacques, Christopher Jacques, and Austin Jacques; and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Chapman, and 3 brothers, Ralph, John, and Robert Barlen.
