Louis Samuel Triebwasser passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2007 at home with his family. At the age of 85, he lived a long and very rich life. He was born in Washtucna WA on February 20, 1921. His father was a German/American, and his mother a German Immigrant. As a child, he spoke both German and English. In 1941, the day after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, he enlisted in the US Navy. During World War II, he served aboard the U.S.S. St. Lo and survived its sinking only to be picked up by another ship which also sank. He was a true American and his patriotism was passed on to his two sons, who also served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. After the war, he moved to the Tri-Cities and worked on a wheat ranch with his family. Later, he started a career in welding in the Quality Assurance and Quality Control fields. He continued this line of work until his retirement. He was an avid reader and loved spending his free time reading stacks of books. If you had a question, more than likely he knew the answer. He had a wonderful gift of story telling and the family would sit around for hours as he reminisced about the good old days. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and passed his stories on to them. He also enjoyed cooking various German dishes, watching college football, and collecting coins. He was truly one-of-a-kind and we will miss him greatly. He was preceded in death by his mother and father William and Suzy Triebwasser, his brothers and sisters, his loving wife, Ruth Triebwasser, and most recently his son Russell L. Triebwasser. He is survived by his son Ed Triebwasser of Camano Island WA and his wife Linda Triebwasser and by his daughter-in-law Kathy Triebwasser. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Matt Triebwasser, his wife Ruth, and their son Luke, Kristina Tucker, her husband Bill and their children Joe and Sarah, Leanne Triebwasser, Kelly Ramacher, her husband Chris and their children Emma and Max, and many nieces and nephews. There will be a gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life on Saturday, January 27 at 2:00 pm. It will be held where he had lived, at the home of Bill and Kristina Tucker, 1101 Clark Rd. Pasco WA.
