William 'Bill' Carl Skinner, 67, of Kennewick, WA passed away at his home on December 30, 2018. Bill was born in Pendleton, OR to Wilbur and Geneva Skinner on April 28, 1951. Bill was raised in Pasco, WA where he graduated from Pasco High School (Class of 1969) and continued his education at Washington State University (Pullman) where he pursued a degree in Communications. He later returned to Pasco, WA where he started a career as a Nuclear Processor Operator with Westinghouse Hanford, a position he would hold for more than 30 years until retirement. He was also a member of the Hanford Atomic Metal Trades Council (HAMTC) Union. He met the love of his life Sharon Raines in 1975. After just two weeks of dating he told her, someday you're going to be my wife. They wed in 1977, and to that union they had two daughters, Brooklyn Dae and Bree Genell Skinner. He also raised his nephew Jafar Skinner. He worked 30 plus years at the Hanford site as a nuclear processor operator. Due to his health he was on long term disability until he retired in 2016. Bill was truly a family man. He enjoyed spending time with his family celebrating special occasions and traveling. His grandkids were the highlight of his life. He constantly bragged about them to whomever would listen. Bill was a well-rounded intellect. He was book smart; would know the name of a song, hearing only a few bars of the tune, and was knowledgeable in all genres of pop culture. He was a true generalist. He remained a fan of WSU Cougar Football until his passing. Bill is survived by his wife Sharon; daughters, Brooklyn Skinner and Bree (Jeff) Muai; grandchildren Sydney Muai, Kellen Muai and Avery Muai; nephew, Jafar Skinner, sisters Kim (Ethan) Moseng and La'Terrel (Edgar) Hargrow, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Wilbur and Geneva Skinner and sisters Dorothy Skinner and Donzetta Cole. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Hillcrest Memorial Center, 9353 W. Clearwater Avenue in Kennewick, WA.
