Adrian ?Lonnie? Porter, age 60, of Kennewick, WA passed away on April 18, 2007. He was born to Elven and Sylvia Porter on January 31, 1947 in Council Grove, Kansas. He graduated from High School in 1965 and then moved with his family to Chelan, WA in 1967. In 1973 he joined the Navy and was aboard the USS Fresno when he was injured. He then moved to Wenatchee, WA where he was part of a group of friends that rode motorcycles. In 1979, he moved to the Salem, OR area where he worked as a salesman. It was there he started Square Dancing. He was hired as a building maintenance man in 1992 and married Lillian Hughes in April 12, 1994. In June of 1994 he was transferred by the building maintenance company to the Tri-Cities, where he retired in 1999. Lonnie was involved in the political arena of Veterans Affairs. He was a member and officer of different Veteran organizations in both Wenatchee and the Tri-Cities area. Those organizations included Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and AmVets. He was also involved with Veterans Coalition and Volunteers at the Walla Walla Veterans Hospital. Lonnie is preceded in death by his parents and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Porter, Kennewick, WA; son, Anthony Tawnya More, Bremerton, WA; brother Gail Pat Porter, Rock Island, WA; sisters, Donna Herbert Ledford, Yakima, WA; Reena Don Forshee, Wenatchee, WA; 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Memorial Services with military honors will be held 6:30 PM, Monday, April 30, 2007 at the first Christian Church, N 16th & W Marie, Pasco, WA The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 6832, Kennewick, WA, 99336.
