Anita Louise (Johnson) Hull was born on June 25, 1948, in Twin Falls, Idaho to Howard Dwight Johnson and Alene (McAllister) Johnson.

Anita started her career as a dental assistant in Cheney, Washington, and then worked as a bookkeeper for many years. When she learned her son, Joshua, was born deaf, she threw herself into learning sign language and became a sign language interpreter in the local Tri-Cities school districts. She worked as an interpreter while she finished her bachelor's and master's degrees at night and eventually became a special education teacher focused on deaf education. Anita retired from teaching after 26 years in the Kennewick School District in 2012. Although a reserved person naturally, Anita loved social gatherings with family and friends and was often seen with her Coors Light or a margarita (blended, light on the salt, please), and a cigarette. She loved music of all kinds and to dance, the Minions movies and anything related to them, anything lemon (especially lemon bars), and really tiny things. Above her kitchen sink are miniature ketchup bottles, coffee cups, and Tabasco sauce containers. Her children and grandchildren were her world, as was her home with Jim on Livingston Road and the life they built there together for over 48 years. She designed and built that home with Jim and her father-in-law, Bob Hull. She was always outside attending to the bushes, flowers, and shrubs, which is why they look so healthy and full today. That's just how Anita was her whole life: she nurtured everything and everyone she touched. Her kindness and compassion were unmatched.

Anita is survived by her husband, James Hull, her daughters, Dawn (Hull) Marske and Charlynn Hull, and her son, Joshua Hull (Mary). She is also survived by her five granddaughters (Lindsey Marske, Hanna Marske, Kayla Hull, Carmen Hull, and Phoebe Hull), mother-in-law, Daphne Hull, sister-in-law, Sandy (Hull) Romm (Dave), sister-in-law, Beverly Johnson, and numerous nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Daniel Johnson and Mark Johnson, grandson, Nicholas Marske, and father-in-law, Robert (Bob) Hull.

A funeral mass to commemorate Anita's life will be held at St. Patrick's Parish in Pasco on June 20, 2025, at 11:00am. Following the mass, a gravesite burial will be held at Einan's at Hillcrest in Pasco. A celebration of life reception will follow the burial at the St. Patrick's Parish recreation and gymnasium next to the church.
