Obituary

Astrid Geraldine (Geri) Kreider 92, of Pasco, Washington passed away at her home of natural causes on March 23, 2023. Geri was born in Ingomar, Montana March 1, 1931 to Gunnar and Anna Lende. She spent her childhood on a farm, raising and caring for sheep, chickens and lambs. It was during these early years that Geri developed a sense of her creative inspiration while pets remained in her life, most recently leaving behind Tori, her beloved chihuahua.

Barely out of her teen years Geri would meet and marry Ralph Kreider. They moved around California, Montana, Idaho, Washington and eventually settled down in Pasco where they would raise their family of five. With pure determination and desire to succeed, Geri and Ralph started and ran a construction business, Tri-City Coating, for 30 years. Sadly, Ralph preceded Geri in death in 2008 after 59 years of marriage.

Geri was someone who saw opportunities and possibilities all around her. She was never one to shy away from work and always wanted to build things, create things, fix and maintain things. Her strong work ethics were most notable at their cabin in Roaring Creek near Snoqualmie Pass. With a snow shovel or rake in one hand and a paint brush or hammer in the other she was devoted to the upkeep of her rental property, cabin and homes. When she wasn't working Geri found time to bowl, play cards and board games, ride snowmobiles and quads, trips to Vegas and Reno, plus a couple of cruises. But perhaps one of Geri's most favorite pastimes was music and dancing. Many, many people can recall an instance of Geri showing up, with her dancing shoes and endless energy, always dressed in sparkling outfits. Purple was her favorite color. Geri was instrumental in forming and launching the Married Couples Dance Club, and singing in Sweet Adelines. Her natural generosity and social pleasantness brought her together with many families and friend's events. Geri's laughter and bubbly, fun personality will sorely be missed.

Geri is preceded in death by her husband Ralph, son Alan Kreider and sons-in-law Merle Locke and Ed Weiss. She is survived by four children, daughter Linda Locke, sons, Bob (Debi) Kreider, Darin (Wendy) Kreider, Kelin (Charlie) Kreider, daughter-in-law Lynn Kreider and sister Carol. Geri has also had the great pleasure of being blessed with 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Geri worked hard, very hard and she succeeded beautifully at making an inviting home. She took care of us and guided us with examples of an accomplished life. She was always there, always interested, always wanting the best for those closest to her and never wanting to let go of her loved ones.…..Now suddenly, it's time for us to let her go.

A memorial service will be held at Anthology Event Center 706 Williams Richland WA on April 29, 2023 starting at 3:00 Food, drinks and dancing in Geri's honor will be planned. Come and celebrate her life.
