Betty Ann Shults of Richland, Washington passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, at the age of 90. Betty was born on March 6, 1935, in Newcastle, Wyoming to Leroy Franklin Cool and Beulah Mae Griffith. She was one of eight children, growing up with six sisters and one brother.

On October 24, 1951, Betty married the love of her life, Billy Pat Shults. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. Billy preceded her in death on August 31, 2011. Their marriage was blessed with seven children, and Betty devoted her life to caring for her home and raising her family.

Betty was a dedicated homemaker who found joy in sewing, camping with her family, and canning the fruits and vegetables she lovingly prepared. She took pride in creating a warm and welcoming home where family and friends always felt comfortable.

Faith was a cornerstone of Betty's life. She and Billy were baptized together as Jehovah's Witnesses on November 24, 1954. They spent many years sharing their beliefs and drawing encouragement from their congregation.

Betty and Billy lived in Benton City, Washington for 15 years before moving to Richland, where she resided for the past 18 years. Throughout her life, she cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and the growing generations that followed.

She is survived by her children Cherry Deines; Brian (Sherri) Shults; Crystal Shults; and Carrie Edwards; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Martha Hokanson, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Billy; her sons Billy and Bradford; her daughter Candy; her parents; five sisters; one brother; and one grandson.

Betty will be inurned at Greenwood Cemetery in Newcastle, Wyoming.
