Beverly Jane McIntire Schick returned to the arms of our Heavenly Father in the early morning hours of December 6th, 2023. We have no doubt that her sweetheart of 63 years, Charles Leroy was there to scoop her up and give her a loving "kiss in the kitchen" like they always did. Their love is one for the books. Bev has missed him dearly since he left her side. We are grateful that she fought to stay with those on this earth who still needed more time and memories with her as long as she did.

Our beautiful mother, aunt, sister, friend, and grandma lived a lifetime of sharing love and had an abundance of it given back to her in return. She had a way of lighting up the room with her beautiful smile and funny jokes! Quick witt, true honesty, the way she would say "right on" as you shared a story, and her amazing laugh are just a few of the things we will miss about her. Grandma's banana bread, party mix, biscuits & gravy, and tacos will never be replicated…even when it's the exact same recipe! There is something about her touch that made them extra delicious!

She was born in Kamiah, ID on May 27th, 1941 to Frank Gerald and Nora Evelyn McIntire. She was the fourth of six kids. Her siblings are Dean, Wayne, Joan, Buddy, and Sandy. She spent much of her youth in Seattle, WA before moving to Roseburg, OR where she graduated from Roseburg High. It was also in Roseburg that she met her adoring husband at a dance. Chuck and Bev were married on November 25th, 1959. Together, they had five children; Ronda, Renae, Carla, Caren, and David. Their family would later be introduced to the missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They made the decision to be baptized and went on to be sealed for time and all eternity in the Portland, OR temple in 1993. Bev held many callings in the church but her favorite has always been nursery.

They eventually settled in Washington. While here, she has been rallied around by an incredible community. Whether it be the relationships that grew while working at Lamb Weston until retirement, her "Tops" group and the friendships she's made there, or those she's met in the neighborhoods and wards they've belonged to over the years, these people will forever be considered her family. There are too many to name. But, to all who are included in these special organizations and neighborhoods, thank you for blessing her life with your kindness.

Beverly is preceded in death by her husband, her daughter (Renae Schick), her parents, four of her siblings, her grandparents, her mother & father in-law, one grandchild, two great-grandchildren, her favorite cat (Miss-T), and her forever best friend, Gloria Gann. What an incredible welcoming party that must have been there to greet her!

Those who now look forward to seeing her again include her children, Ronda (Les) Szlavich of Cambridge, Minnesota, Carla (David) Whitaker of Taylor, Utah, Caren (Alan) Heinze of Pasco, Washington, David Schick of Pasco, Washington; sister Sandra Walker, and her "adopted" granddaughter, Ashley Wright. She also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren (with one great-great-grandchild on the way) who all love their grandma dearly. There are numerous others who may not be included in this count officially but who affectionately called her "Grandma Bev," their adopted grandma.

When her grandkids were little, she would always call the kisses they would give her "brown sugar." We know that she would love it if every time you bake with brown sugar or add it to your oatmeal, you might think of this beautiful lady sending you a kiss from heaven and letting you know how much love she has for those who were blessed to know her.

A Viewing will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 5pm~7pm at Hillcrest Funerals and Cremation, 9353 W. Clearwater Ave., Kennewick, WA. Funeral Services will be on Monday, December 11th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Rd 108 Bldg) 4305 Crescent Rd., Pasco, WA with an additional viewing from 10am to 10:45am. Followed by Graveside Services at Columbia River Cemetery, 224 W. 24th Ave., Pasco, WA.
