Billie Jeanne Kortge passed away at home on August 3, 2023. Billie was a force of nature, living her life with adventure, humor and love. She brought joy to everyone she met, bringing passion and fun to her work and deep care and compassion for her clients and colleagues. Getting her Masters later in life, Billie found the work she loved the most working with children and young adults going through trauma, bringing her insight, empathy, and playfulness into countless lives.

Billie grew up in The Dalles, Oregon, the youngest of three sisters, before moving to Portland, finally settling in Kennewick Washington after various travels. Her love for her children and grandchildren was the deepest foundation of her life. She loved her daughter, Ingrid, and her son, Brett, with her whole heart. Throughout years of sleepovers, tea parties, funny cards, board games and random texts, she made sure her grandchildren knew Grammy was there for them.

Billie will be remembered for her creativity, her love of flowers and gardening, her odd fondness for ironing everything. For her distinctive style, her skill with just about every job she did, and most importantly, her sense of humor. Billie is predeceased by her daughter Ingrid and survived by her son Brett, her sisters Linda and Nancy, her husband Joe, her grandchildren Tyler, Alea, Vaughn, Anika, Christopher and Ashley, her great grandchildren Peyton and Lincoln.
