Bradley Joseph McClure was born in Eugene, Oregon on November 3, 1958. He was the first, and according to his mother Janice, the most sensitive, and also the most difficult of her four children. The stories about Brad's antics are endless, often funny, sometimes sad, and many are astonishing. Extremely bright and quick witted, he grew into a strong, athletic, gifted man, who served his country for eight years as a Marine despite having a heart defect that was not discovered until later in life. He met his wife Margaret during his service, and they were married until she passed in 2021.

Brad grew up in Kennewick. Even though he went into the Marines and lived in California, Arizona, and Seattle, he came home to the Tri-Cities and lived in Benton City.

Brad was an athlete and thrill seeker. He loved to water ski, hike, camp, fish, hunt, scuba dive, kayak, ride motorcycles and dirt bikes, and party. He took his younger siblings along on many adventures, often without permission or much forethought, but they survived to tell tales later. Brad's parents, Janice and Don, doted on their children, and though Brad gave them the most difficulty, he was also charming and full of so much potential that his energy was infectious. According to Janice, Brad's father bailed him out of more scrapes than she could count, but there was much love between them.

Brad's many personal and professional accomplishments included: graduating from college, becoming a financial analyst, and then finding a career as a software engineer at Microsoft. He lived at full throttle and always had multiple ventures and adventures in the works, including building award-winning motorcycles with the help of his sister Cathie, mining for gold in Arizona, fishing in Alaska, and travelling all over the country and in Canada on his motorcycles. He fought hard all his life for what he wanted and just to soothe his soul. And he never, ever sat still.

He survived many accidents and injuries, some of which were near-fatal. It was ironic that Brad was disabled by a stroke which left him with a brain injury in 2014. After this unfortunate tragedy, his family brought him and his wife back to the Tri-Cities and helped them live comfortably in Benton City. Brad was able to regain some mobility and cognitive functioning over time, but never made a full recovery. His life after the stroke was frustrating to him because he wanted so much to be planning and having adventures. His faith in God gave him some comfort.

Brad passed away on August 31, 2023 after a short illness. May he now find peace and adventures with God.

Brad is survived by his mother Janice, his sister Cathie Heiman, his brother Doug McClure, and his sister Paula McClure Tridle, as well as several nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

His ashes will be buried next to his wife Margaret at City View Cemetery in Pasco, WA. His family will be celebrating his life at the graveside on September 7, 2023. Donations can be made to research for stroke and TBI.
