Betty Harris Charlotte "Char" Diane Caruth passed away in her home on August 20th, 2021, after a nearly 2 year battle with cancer, she was 77. Char was born in Wallace, Idaho on September 26, 1943, to Vincent Senn and Betty (Shepard) Senn. They moved their young family to the Tri-Cities in 1947 where Char attended school in Finley and Kennewick High School. She worked for the Richland School District as a cook. Her three children enjoyed seeing her at lunch when they were attending school. Char attended Columbia Basin College where she pursued a Criminal Justice degree and began working for Crime Stoppers with the Kennewick Police Department. She retired in 2002 as the Security and Training Manager for Olympic Security at the Pasco Airport. She truly enjoyed volunteering her time as a Girl Scout leader, and with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), including the annual Labor Day Telethon. Another MDA event Char was proud of was the local MDA bed races. She had a team that represented the Tri-Cities and raced during half-time of a Seahawks game in the 80s. What Char enjoyed the most was spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids, her face lit up when they were around. She loved gardening and being at the beach. She is preceded in death by her parents, Vincent Senn and Betty Jane Whatley. She is survived by her three children, Christopher (LeAnn) Chandler, Betty (Mike) Harris, and Donald (Lisa) Chandler. Her brothers Gerald (Elaine) Senn, Leland Senn, and sister Theda (John) Pansevicius, 9 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held September 11, 2021, at 10 am at Hillcrest Funeral & Cremation at 9353 W. Clearwater Avenue Kennewick Wa. A virtual option will be available.
