Clareas Pleasant, 72, passed away on January 19, 2014 in Kennewick, WA. She was born on October 22, 1941 in Jonesboro-hodge, Lousiana to parents Alma and Hope Paggett. On July 4, 1970, Clareas married George William Pleasant, who preceded her in death. Clareas worked as a clerk for the City of Richland, retiring in 2004. Clareas belonged to the Morning Star Baptist Church, the Eastern Stars, Sunshine Band, and was the head of the Mother's Board. She enjoyed bingo, casino, church, and the Sunshine Band group, fishing and hanging out with her family. Clareas is survived by her children, Terri Pleasant, Gwen Colbray, Michael Pleasant, all of the Tri-Cities, WA; Lesah Pleasant, NV; Robert Bunyon, Tri-Cities; Angie Crawford, CA; Donna Lee and Nina Rodriguez, Yakima, WA; brothers and sisters, Donson Paggett, Larry Paggett, Lenora Pettitt, and Lynn Paggett; Twenty-two grandkids and a host of great grandkids and nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her loving husband, George Pleasant; brothers John and Lee Paggett; sister Eva May Thomas and granddaughter Nashautae Pleasant. A special thanks to Dr. Moosa, Dr. Clar de Jesus, Dr. Cuboni and the whole medical staff at Trios and Trios Medical Mall for all their hard work and dedication to my mom during her times with them. A Celebration of Life will be held on January 25, 2014 at 11:00 am at Shaw and Sons Funeral Home, 201 N 2nd St, Yakima, WA. Visitation will be held January 23, from 3-7pm at Hillcrest Memorial Center, 9353 West Clearwater Avenue, Kennewick, WA and January 24, from 3-7 pm at Shaw and Sons Funeral Home.
