Clarice Murdock, age 88, passed away in her home at Brookdale Senior Living in Kennewick, WA on July 26, 2024 after suffering a stroke 4 days earlier.

Clarice was born on January 8, 1936, in Makoti, ND to Carl and Marion Larson. She was the youngest of three daughters. She grew up in Minot, ND where she married and started her family. In 1960 they moved to Washington, first living in Seattle and then moving to Kennewick in 1964. In retirement, she and her husband Bob spent a few winters in Yuma, AZ and then moved there permanently in 2004. Bob passed away in 2012, and Clarice moved back to Kennewick in 2023 to be near her family.

Clarice loved to make beautiful quilts, to dance, read, hear and tell jokes, bake, play cards and do crossword puzzles. She made it a point to stay informed of current events and enjoyed discussing them. But her favorite thing to do was entertain. An invitation to a party at her home, whether it was planned far in advance or on the spur of the moment, was always a great time. There was good food, fun games and a lot of laughing.

Clarice lived a full and active life right up to a few days before her passing. She was the life of every party and the light in our lives.

Clarice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Murdock, sister Elaine Knutson, son Todd Payne, son-in-law Richard Davis, and her love from her teenage years, Bradley Stromme, with whom she reconnected after more than 60 years had passed and after they were both widowed. They were each other's first and last love, and we are so happy they were able to spend their final years together.

Left to mourn Clarice's passing are her children Sandra Davis, Michael Conner and Steven Conner (Brenda Dilbeck); her eight grandchildren (who adored her), Jill (Shane) Johnson, David (Kristeen) Conner, Jeffrey (Charlee) Conner, Megan Conner, Joni (David) Boyd, Kyle Conner, Bradley (Felicia) Conner and Matthew Conner. She also leaves thirteen great-grandchildren, her sister Arlene Oen, daughter-in-law Sandra Conner, and a multitude of dear friends.

A celebration of Clarice's life will be held on Thursday, August 22nd, at 6:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 9353 W. Clearwater Avenue, Kennewick, WA 99336.
