Cleveland
Bell
Aug 27, 1927 — Nov 29, 2025
Cleveland Bell, age 98 of Pasco, Washington, passed away at home on November 29, 2025. Cleveland was born in Waynesboro, Mississippi on August 27, 1927.
He was raised by his Grandfather Sam Whigham, who owned a farm in Wayne County, Mississippi. Growing up Cleveland helped on the farm and later worked in the timber industry. As a young man, Cleveland left Mississippi, moved and worked in Chicago for several years, later joining his mother Lola James, in Pasco, Washington. He continued to live and work in Pasco, until he took advantage of an opportunity to move to Alaska, where he continued working for 30 years in construction. Upon retiring, Cleveland returned to Pasco where he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, traveling back and forth to Mississippi and Alaska. He especially enjoyed the "true love of his life" playing dominoes. He was a hard working, kind, caring man, and always willing to help.
Cleveland is preceded in death by his Grandfather Sam Whigham, Mother Lola James, and Son Charles Collins. He leaves to mourn long-time partner Patricia Cleghorn, daughters: Debbie Bell of Pasco, WA, Tyanna Kinsey of Portland, OR, son: Michael Cleghorn of Richland, WA. Grandchildren: Shanice Bell of Pasco, WA, Calvin Bell of Seattle, WA, Aleah Slack of Richland, WA, Keesha Slack of Pasco, WA, Keyshon Slack, of Pasco, WA, 4 great-grandchildren, and a host of cousins and friends.
The family would like to thank the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice Program for their service and support during Cleveland's illness.
