Daniel Mark Shoemaker, 44, of Kirkland, WA, lost a brave battle to cancer on September 17th in Richland, WA. Dan was born December 3, 1961 in Seattle, WA, and was a life-long resident of Seattle's Eastside. Dan graduated from South Seattle Community College with an AA degree in diesel mechanics in June 1982. Dan was a self-employed diesel mechanic most of his life and was known throughout the community as being able to fix anything with an engine, from lawn mowers to diesel trucks. Dan loved repairing cars, trucks and heavy construction equipment. Other interests included NASCAR and he generously gave to his friends. Dan is survived by his parents, Fred and Marilyn Shoemaker of Richland, WA; his sisters, Linda and Kevin Farmer of Kennewick, WA, and Cheryl Hansen of Richland, WA; his nieces, Alece Farmer of Kennewick, and Lindsey Hansen of Richland, and his nephew, Robert Shoemaker, of Walla Walla, WA, along with many life long friends. Special thanks goes out to Arline Bartel and the Tri-City Chaplaincy Hospice for their loving care in his final weeks.
