Dennis W. Dilley, born April 21, 1950 in Spokane Washington, passed away at home November 7, 2008 at age 58. Dennis' family moved to Kahlotus Windust when he was two years old. Where he was nothing less than impressive. He was an all star athlete playing basketball, baseball and football. His teen years through adulthood, he worked hard for local farmers earning enough by the age of 14 to purchase his first motorcycle. He began employment with Franklin County Road Dept in his late teens promoting to foreman at the age of 21. He moved his family into the Tri-Cities in 1978 and began driving trucks. It took only a few years and he partnered with his best friend Steve McEwen to purchase their own trucks. At age 38 he moved to the Yakima area and began employment with Yakima County attaining the accomplishment of Crew Chief with the Public Works Department. Dennis was very active in the community. He held the positions of Secretary and President of the local Lions club working hard for the blind. He was Chief of the volunteer fire department and volunteered as an EMT. He played town basketball and baseball. He enjoyed life and was a loyal fan of the Seattle Mariners and Seahawks. He loved good conversation on a HAM radio with individuals all over the world hoping to visit each place someday. Motorcycles were Dennis' way to freedom and contentment. Dennis was a devoted father. He never missed a birthday, anniversary or holiday. He never missed an opportunity to say "I love you." His family and friends will miss his sense of humor, kind heart and sparkling eyes. Dad has left us with a legacy to carry on through the generations of what a gentle soul can give to the world to make a difference. We all love you, Dad. Dennis is survived by: his best friend, Sherrie Burns, Son – Joshua Dilley and wife Brianne; daughters – Brooke Pack and husband Douglas; Linda Brooks and husband Fount. Sisters – Rita Aris and husband Brian, Sharon Wilson and husband Terry. Brother – Norman Dilley and wife Linda. Granddaughters: Tierra Lynn, Tia Lee, Tamerra L'Rae, Raquel Marie, Piper Joy, Crystal RaeLynn and Great Granddaughter Kaci Michelle. Preceded in death by: Father – Woodrow Dilley, Mother – Beatrice Holien and Stepfather, Jerry Holien. A viewing will be held on Friday, November 14, from 4PM to 7PM at Hillcrest/Bruce Lee. Celebration of Life will be held at Hillcrest Bruce Lee 2804 W. Lewis St. Pasco, Sunday November 16, 2008 - 11:00am. Burial Services will follow at Kahlotus Cemetery.
