Dennis J. Zeigler was born in Olympia, WA, at home, to his parents Chester and Ruth Zeigler. After graduating from Olympia High School in June of 1940, he promptly enlisted in the U.S. National Guard. With the attack on Pearl Harbor, he was called to active duty and served in the Aleutian Islands. He acquired commission as a second lieutenant in the National Guard and was discharged in October 1955 with the rank of Captain. On January 29, 1945 he married the love of his life, Mary Louise Lynch and they celebrated 63 years together this year. After the war, Dennis returned to Olympia and worked in the construction and lumber industries. In 1960, he moved to Pasco where he managed the Copeland Lumber Yard for 25 years until his retirement in the mid 1980's. He and Mary then enjoyed traveling throughout the United States in their RV for at least 20 years, until Dennis became ill and they returned to Pasco. Throughout their years in the Tri-Cities and in their travels, they made many lasting friendships that they treasured. Dennis leaves behind his loving wife, Mary; his sons, Larry, Allen BJ, Dennis Terrie, and Philip; and his daughters, Mary T. Schumacher Tom and Janet Rush; as well as 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren! Dennis is also survived by his sister, Maxine Mehan of California. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Nancy Eileen.
