Obituary

Donald D. Pentecost, 88, of Kennewick, WA, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2024. Born on February 24, 1936, in Minden, Nebraska, to Donald and Leila Pentecost, Donald lived a full and vibrant life, dedicated to his family, his work, and his passions.

Donald married the love of his life, Barbara Pentecost, on January 20, 1967. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared countless memories. A hardworking man from a young age, Donald took pride in his career as the proud co-owner of Pentecost Construction until his retirement in 1994.

Donald was not just a dedicated worker; he was a man of many talents and interests. He played sports in school, and his love for racing led him to build and race his own stock cars. In his retirement, he became an avid bowler, actively participating in the Tri-City Bowling League and even scoring a perfect 300 in a competition. Donald's dedication to his passions and his community was evident in his proud membership with the WA-ID Operating Engineers and his long-standing involvement with the South Hills Church.

A devoted family man, Donald was a steadfast supporter of his wife Barbara's chip carving hobby and cared for her health needs until her passing. He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength in his children: Joyce (Jay) Perry, Bonnie Tobin, David (Julie) Pentecost, James Pentecost, and Donald (Nicole) Pentecost. Donald was also a beloved grandfather to 11 grandchildren.

Donald is preceded in death by his wife Barbara Pentecost, his daughter Lorna Peterson, his parents Don and Leila Pentecost, and his siblings Darryl Arendt and Avis Clark.
