Doris Jean Johnson, 83, a longtime resident of Tri-Cities, WA died on January 19, 2025, at Richland Post Acute Care.

She was born to Howard and Ruth Vezie on March 8, 1941, in Martinez, CA.

The family moved to Salem, OR, then to Pescadero, CA, and from there to Santa Cruz, CA, where Doris attended Mission Hill Junior High and then Santa Cruz High School. Doris married her high school sweetheart, Ernest "Allen" Johnson on May 16, 1959, and they celebrated 58 years of marriage.

Doris accompanied her husband Allen to Germany and France during his service as an MP in the U.S. Army from 1959-1962. After returning to Santa Cruz, their daughter Tonya Alaine Johnson was born on August 3, 1966.

The family moved to Washington state in 1973, where Doris was later employed at the Hanford Site, FFTF, for several years.

Doris is survived by her brother Robert "Bob" Vezie (Kay) of Gig Harbor, sister-in-law Rosalind Sanders of Kennewick, nieces Angela Raleigh of Richland, Janelle (Jerry) Mercado of Kennewick, Rochelle Del Carlo of Richland, Lori Stigge (Bruce) of Pasco, Cindy Collette (Mark) of Cosmopolis, Susie Peterson of Pasco, and great-nephew Joshua Del Carlo of Pasco, plus many other loved great-nephews and great-nieces.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband Allen Johnson, daughter Tonya Johnson, parents Ruth and Howard Vezie, sister Janet Hunterman, brother-in-law David Johnson, sister-in-law Jane Smith, niece Jan Weinrich, and nephew Marc Del Carlo.

Doris enjoyed being with family and serving many holiday dinners at their home in Pasco. In their later years, Doris and Allen enjoyed several vacation cruises. Doris especially enjoyed attending church services at Hillspring Church. Her presence will be missed by all her family and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Einan's at Hillcrest – Pasco, located at 224 S. 24th Avenue, Pasco. Interment will follow.

Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. preceding the service.
