Loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away, at the age of 94, on August 13, 2021. Dorothea was born on November 26, 1926 into a large loving family. She was the tenth of eleven children of Walt and Elsie Livermore. She was born and raised in Pasco, Washington and she was the last surviving sibling. She graduated from Pasco High School in 1944 and continued reunions and luncheons with her classmates over the years. She was a fan of the purple and white. . .a forever bulldog! She attended college for one year at Eastern Washington University. She met her future husband, Gordon Roberts, at Christmas in 1946 and they were married four months later. They settled in West Pasco and raised seven children. Her family was always most important to her and she cherished her time with her husband, her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. While raising her children, she was a hard working homemaker who grew a large garden and berries. She canned vegetables, and fruits as well as preserved pickles, asparagus, jams, and jellies. She raised chickens and sold eggs to neighbors. She grew many types of flowers but her roses, in her rose garden, were her favorite. Her door was always open to family and friends. After the death of her first husband in 1973, her children were mostly grown, so she entered the workforce. She worked at Columbia Basin College in registration, as a secretary and as a program assistant until she retired. Dorothea was a charter member of the Riverview United Methodist Church and was very involved in church leadership through the years. Dorothea remarried in 1982 to Charles Reed (Charlie) and they remained together until his death in 2020. Dorothea is survived by her children: Gordon (Mike) Roberts (Cheryl) of Spokane,WA; Debra Mace of West Richland, WA; Vickie Carpenter (Steve) of Spokane Valley, WA; Marlis Birge (Dennis) of Seven Bays, WA; Merrilee (May) Hays of West Richland, WA; Chris Roberts (Debra) of Seattle, WA; Cheryl Reed of Colorado Springs, CO; son-in-law Arlen Albin; Pasco, WA and 16 grandchidren and 25 great-grandchildren (+ one on the way). She will be lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and family friends that were near and dear to her heart. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gordon H. Roberts and her second husband. Charles A. Reed; her daughter Gail R. Albin and her son-in-law William N. Mace Sr. (Bill). You all became "family" to Mom and to our family. You treated her with love and respect and made this part of her journey as comfortable as possible. We appreciate all the loving care you gave "Miss Dottie". She will be missed and forever in our hearts. We love you Mom forever and always. A Celebration of Life gathering, for family and friends, will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021, from 3:00p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at The Mayfield Gathering Place & Gardens, 331 S. 41st Avenue, West Richland, WA. The family request donations be made to the Riverview United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or the Columbia Basin College Scholarship Fund, in her name.
