Dorothy Louise Van Dorn, 78, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026, in Pasco, Washington. She was born on November 21, 1947, in Sunnyside, Washington, to Tom and Martha Rivard.

Dorothy made the Tri-Cities her home for 50 years. Throughout her life, she worked as a housekeeper and provided home cleaning services, and she also spent time bartending. She was known for her caring nature and her love for the simple things that made a house feel like home.

Dorothy had a special love for animals and birds. She enjoyed decorating her home and yard, taking pride in creating beautiful and welcoming spaces around her. She found joy in the little things and in making her surroundings feel special.

On January 1, 1999, Dorothy married Tom Van Dorn, with whom she shared many cherished years. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Tom Van Dorn; her son, Brian Daughery; nephew, Rick Rivard; nephew, Rob Winter; and great-niece, Sheryl Rivard; great-nephew, Matthew Rivard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Martha Rivard; her brother, Vie Rivard; and her sister, Patty Winter.

Dorothy will be remembered for the life she built, the love she had for animals and nature, and the warmth she brought to those around her. Her memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
