Dwight David Langer passed away on January 23, 2024, in Richland, WA. He was born on November 17, 1949, in Peru, Indiana to George and Charlotte (Meischke) Langer. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, David Dwight Langer.

He attended St. Charles elementary school and graduated from Peru High School. He then attended Indiana State University, graduating in 1972. During the summers throughout high school and college he worked for the Peru Utilities in the Line Department as a laborer. He began working full time for Peru Utilities in February 1973. He held the positions of Public Relations officer, Office Manager and Assistant General Manager under GM Bill Buffington. He was appointed General Manager in July of 1985 and remained as GM until February 1993 when he moved to The Dalles, Oregon as General Manager of the Northern Wasco County PUD where he remained GM until his retirement in December of 2015.

While living in Indiana, he and Rebecca Gilbreath, had two sons David Dwight (deceased) and Joseph Andrew of Conway, Arkansas. Dwight and Rebecca later divorced.

While living in The Dalles, Dwight married Donna Lee Kaseberg in 1999 where they continued to reside until Dwight's retirement in December of 2015. They had previously built a home in Richland, Washington and after Dwight retired, they moved to Richland permanently to be near family.

Dwight and Donna enjoyed traveling to Germany to visit her family and made several trips to Mexico, Canada and to many of the states including Hawaii. They made frequent trips each year to Cannon Beach, Oregon which held a special place of meaningful memories for both of them.

Dwight enjoyed golfing and was very proud of his first hole-in-one in 2022 on a local Richland golf course. He had memorable times and vacations with stepchildren and their families along with traveling each year to wherever Joseph was stationed during his time in the Air Force and later to his home in Arkansas.

Dwight was a person who always cared for others and helped to lessen their burdens. He had a wonderful sense of humor and shared many life lessons with his son, stepchildren and their children. He read the Bible each day which gave him strength to live his life with joy and gratitude.

Dwight is survived by his wife, Donna Lee of Richland WA., a brother, Geoff (Wendy) Langer of Peru IN., a sister, Michelle (Todd) DaWalt, Peru, IN., and a niece, Andrea Langer, Peru, IN. Three stepchildren, Kim Decker of Camas, WA., Kelly Gallasch (Doug) of Kennewick, WA., Kyle (Susan) Kaseberg of Middleton, ID., ten step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren.
