Edith Bernice Bellenbaum Stoltz - Edith B. Stoltz Born in Lanigan, Saskatchewan, Canada on January 18, 1926. The whole family worked on the farm until Grandpa Bellenbaum's uncle found him a job as a carpenter at Long Beach Shipyard. Moved to California, USA when she was a teenager - Quite a culture shock! She attended Long Beach High, then quit to work at Douglas Aircraft as a riveter. We always joked that she was the original Rosie the riveter. When the WWII was over - she found various other jobs. George M. Stoltz and Edith were married on July 6, 1946 . They met at the Long Beach USO dance. She loved their time in Hawaii and Kwajalein, Marshall Islands. It took a while for kids to come along but in 1960, with 4 kids in tow - they moved to Belfair, Washington. 60 acres of wooded farmland - there was lots to do but still time over the years for her to volunteer as a dispatcher part time for the Mason County Sheriff Dept - Northern post. She played the local women's baseball team and drove kids to Bremerton to attend vocational training. Edith worked at Allyn House Nursing Home as a housekeeper for approximately 5 years. In 1969 she worked hard and received her GED diploma. She was very proud to have achieved that diploma. When George retired from Bremerton Naval Shipyard, they moved to a smaller farm in Sunnyside, Wa. He died of cancer in 1976. Edith loved the sunshine in Eastern Washington and moved to Pasco, Washington. She loved the lunches at Burbank Grange. Her grandchildren always won out when Edith was babysitting. She loved her Bellenbaum family reunions. She looked forward to them every year. Edith enjoyed the family picnics/camping around the Tri Cities including Crows Butte Park and Chief Timothy State Park. Edith is survived by her children: son George M Stoltz, Jr (wife Kathi); daughter Doreen Gardner; son Bill Stoltz (Marie Russell); son Mike Stoltz (wife Gretchen), her baby sister Dolores Roseth (Jess Rios) and whole bunches of dearly loved grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. There is no public memorial service planned. The family and friends will gather this summer to take Edith's ashes up to the Mountains for release.
