Edwin "Terry"
Farrington
Jan 31, 1938 — May 3, 2024
Edwin Terry Farrington, age 86, peacefully passed away at his home in Kennewick, Washington, on May 3, 2024. Born on January 31, 1937, in Wenatchee, Washington to Arthur Park Farrington and Neoma Lucille Grubb Farrington, Terry leaves behind a legacy of dedication, compassion, and love. He grew up in Issaquah, WA and also loved spending lots of his time in Wenatchee with family.
Terry's educational journey was marked by a commitment to learning and teaching. He graduated from Issaquah High School in 1956 and pursued higher education at the University of Washington, earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1961. His passion for education led him to obtain his Teachers Certificates from the State of Washington School Board of Education (1966-1978) and later complete his Master of Arts in Education from Arizona State University in 1970. As a High School History Teacher and Rehabilitation Counselor, Terry touched the lives of many students and colleagues with his wisdom and guidance.
Throughout his 86 years, Terry cherished his time spent in various communities. He resided in North Bend, Washington, for 27 years before settling in Kennewick for the last five. An active member of the Calvary Chapel Tri-Cities congregation, Terry found solace and community in his faith.
Terry's interests were as diverse as his experiences. He found joy in fishing, capturing moments through photography, nurturing his garden, and exploring new places through travel. His adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors were evident in all he did.
Terry is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, Anne Pilgrim Farrington, his daughters Catherine Farrington (Scott), Jacqueline Farrington (Chris), Sara Farrington, and Megan Hampton, his sons Tyler (Stephanie) Hampton and Aaron (Summer) Hampton, his brother David Farrington, and six cherished grandchildren, Gabriel, Mason, Ashlee, Seth, Brendan, and Ethan. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ronald Farrington, and sister Anne Farrington.
In honoring Terry's life, a Memorial Service will be held at Calvary Chapel Eastside, Bellevue, WA, at a later date. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
