Obituary

Edwin Jay Lee age 81 of Burbank, Washington died December 22, 2023. He was born July 17, 1942, in Salmon, Idaho to Roy Edwin Moore and Rhoda Elizabeth Richardson. He was soon joined by three younger brothers and Ed attended elementary school in Salmon. His parents divorced. His mother married Arthur Lee and the family moved to Chino Valley, AZ. where Ed attended middle school. They then moved to Eltopia WA and Ed became the big brother to three younger sisters. He attended high school in Pasco, WA & went to the state championships for wrestling his senior year. He graduated from Pasco High School in 1960. In February of 1961 He enlisted in the Army. He was stationed in Fort Hood at Killeen Base in Texas. He was proud to serve his country and a letter of commendation was sent to his parents. He was honorably discharged in February of 1964.He stayed in the South for several years and ran successful businesses during that time. He moved back to Washington State and the Tri-Cities in 1978. He was briefly married and had a son, Steven Ray Lee, in 1984 and then a year later a daughter, Jaime Hough. He was always a hard worker and began installing heating and air-conditioning and doing restaurant equipment repair. During this time, he met the love of his life, Sherrill Long, and after many years together they married on January 1, 2001. All his life Ed was a voracious reader and literally read thousands of books which he then donated to different places in the Tri-Cities. He read half a dozen newspapers every morning and was always up on happenings around the world as well as local current events. For twenty-two years he installed all the For Sale signs for Windermere Realty (now Sotheby's). He enjoyed driving around and seeing all the new growth in the Tri-City area. He loved his summer trip to Salmon, Idaho every year and always took Walla Walla Sweets and other produce to his friends and family there. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Steven Ray Moore and Michael John Lee. He leaves behind his loving wife, Sherrill, children Steven Ray Lee and his wife Jessy, Jaime Hough, and her husband Stetson Edwards, Brian Long and Clara Ray, Rebecca Long and her husband Brad Long, beloved grandson Izaiah Long and his wife Ayleen Long and precious granddaughters Zuzu, Maisie, and Marceline. Also, his brother & sister-in-law Curt and Gloria Lee, sisters Lynnette and Ray PIckup, Holly, and Keith Speirs, and LaFaye and Keith Bergman as well as many nieces and nephews, and his beloved Aunt Bertie Benedict and cousin Hope in Salmon, Idaho. He was very loved and will be missed so much by his family and all who knew him. A celebration of Ed's life will be April 27, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest in Pasco. We will remind everyone as that time gets closer.
