Elon Anne Bragg (nee Ulmer) passed away on February 22, 2023, (age 80) and is finally reunited with Jesus Christ and her beloved Mom & Dad. She was born Dec 18, 1942 in Stockton, California, to Edwin Otto Ulmer and Dorothy (Allen). She loves Heavenly Father and Jesus and has a very deep and abiding testimony in the truthfulness of the gospel. She was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints throughout her life, devoting many hours of selfless service to others. Mom played the piano, wrote poetry as well as songs, and dedicated countless hours to genealogy record extracting.

Holiday lover extraordinaire, she will always be remembered for making Christmas special and her elaborate (i.e. ridiculously scary) halloween decorations. A favorite memory of the grandkids will always be her world famous handmade rolls only made during the holiday seasons! Many December evenings were spent hand-delivering chickens to families in need as well as taking her family on drives to see the local Christmas lights.

Her life, and the lives of our family, were altered permanently in 2007 when she suffered a brain stem stroke. She became a new, uninhibited, hysterically funny (admittedly sometimes frustrating) personality, a side of her she had kept well under control until that time. Disguised as disabled, she worked hard to repay us for our childhood misdeeds. Mission Accomplished! The stories are endless of the capers she pulled off and the funny things she said and did. Sometimes she would incite riots in the car on the way to church to go buy hamburgers instead; she enjoyed bringing random pets home to grandchildren when their parents were gone; she'd get in the driver's seat of the car and move it while we were in the store. She put a fellow co-conspirator in the car one day and drove to the coffee shop to buy sugar cookies (a death-defying, never-to-be-done-again, experience for the passenger) and then there was the time someone turned on her oven and was so surprised when her secret stash of oreos caught fire. Mystery dents continually appeared all the way down the side of her van that happened to match the height of the scooters she was always riding at Fred Meyers. Mom was always up for a road trip, going for a treat, chasing an ambulance or a fire, or just going for a drive. She knew how to laugh along even when it was at her own expense (but mostly when it was at ours) at the crazy predicaments she got into. She was eventually nicknamed Tom Sawyer as she would spend most of her days trying to figure out ways to put the rest of us to work! Mom has taken us on a roller coaster ride for the past 16-1/2 years, constantly challenging us to try to outwit her. We were never able to. We will miss her terribly and may possibly be quite bored as we carry on!

She married Billy Bragg in 1961 in Las Vegas, Nevada where they lived until 1971 when they moved to Kennewick and started The Giant Nickel Want Ads. They later divorced. She leaves behind 3 daughters and 2 sons: Terri (Jim) Drake, Valinda Bridges, Danette (Ted) Rivard, Devin Bragg (Karly), and Bryce (Keri) Bragg. . Her posterity includes 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both parents and one brother, Edwin Josephson.

A viewing will be on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 from 4-7pm at Hillcrest Funerals and Cremation, 9353 W. Clearwater Avenue, Kennewick, WA. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at the Hansen Park LDS church, 8120 4th Ave., Kennewick beginning at 11:00 am.
