Obituary

Ester Valdez

January 26, 1935 – April 13, 2026

Ester Valdez, a humble and loving soul, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, at the age of 91. She was born on January 26, 1935, in Brownsville, Texas, to Adolfo Garza and Aurelia Garza (Sandoval).

In her early 20s, Ester married the love of her life and devoted husband, Aczael, and together they shared 70 years of marriage. They built a life centered on family, raising four sons—Joe, Ray, John, and Aczael—and a daughter, Sylvia Dement, who preceded her in death. Their home was filled with quiet love, strong values, and the simple joys of being together.

Ester found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved gardening and took great pride in cultivating flowers and bushes, creating beauty wherever she planted. She will be especially remembered for her delicious, homemade tortillas and her impeccable cooking—meals that brought comfort and connection to those she loved.

She is survived by the love of her life and devoted husband, Aczael; her four sons; 13 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her deeply.

Ester's love was not always spoken in words, but it was deeply felt. Her children carry that love in a quiet, powerful way—seen in their eyes, in the tears that gather when they speak of her, and in the bond they share. She gave them a lifetime of care, and in return, they honor her with a love that needs no explanation.

She will be remembered always for her kindness, her strength, and the gentle way she moved through life.
