Evelyn Whipple, age 79, beloved wife and aunt passed away May 29, 2013 at her home in Wallula, Washington, surrounded by loving family members and care givers. Lyn was born August 6, 1933 in Bollinger County, Missouri. Lyn and Charles (Gene) Whipple were united in marriage on July 22, 1974. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Bessie Bollinger of Sedgewickville, Missouri and two sisters, Mary Lou Henson and Rose Marie Presnell, both of Patton, Missouri. She is survived by many nieces and nephews who cherish her memory. Lyn was a member of the Massachusetts Order of The Eastern Star; she was a member of the Elks as well as The Lady of the Moose. Lyn thoroughly enjoyed the ten years she spent with Gene during the last of his Marine Corps career at San Diego, California, 29 Palms, California, Boston, Massachusetts, and Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Everyone enjoyed visiting her home and being a part of her social functions. Lyn enjoyed lapidary, camping, boating, bird watching and working in her yard. She and her husband Gene enjoyed many years of traveling and camping throughout the western states after their retirement from the military. They shared 41 years of memories and cherished every day they spent together. A private memorial service will be planned at a later date.
