Obituary

Frances was born Francesca Rose Giorgianni on April 4, 1933, in New York City to Italian Immigrants Salvatore and Caterina Giorgianni. Frances lived in Brooklyn, New York until she met her future husband Eugene, a Navy Sailor on the boardwalk at Coney Island, New York, in 1950. In September of 1952, she traveled to Pasco, Washington, with her husband Eugene Gene Darrell Wright. They were married on September 17, 1952 and were members of St. Patrick?s Catholic Church. They lived in Pasco until they started traveling to Arizona for the winters in 1996. Frances passed away with Gene by her side in Yuma, Arizona, on May 4, 2006 after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and a brother. She is survived by her loving husband Gene, son Gregory Susan of Olympia; daughter Kathy of Portland, Oregon; and daughter Jennifer Greg Sullivan of Pasco. She has 7 grandchildren, Sarah, Paul, Chloe, Grayson, Carina, Marisa, and Angela. She has numerous nieces and nephews. Frances worked during many years of her life starting in the Empire State Building in New York City. She also worked for many years at Inland Hardware in Pasco and for the Pasco School District in food services. Frances was a Cub Scout leader and helped Gene with Grid Kids Football and was honorary secretary for the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen for many years. When Gene and Frances became parents, Frances felt her most valuable job was giving her time, effort, love and caring to her family. Frances was always home for her children and never missed a ball game, concert or event that anyone of her children or their friends were in. Frances and Gene loved spending time together and with family and friends. They spent many hours camping with their children and family before Gene?s retirement in 1992. After 1992 they started taking longer trips in progressively bigger 5th wheel trailers with other retired friends and lived nearly full time in their RV. Frances was known for her hospitality whether she was in her home or in her trailer. Coffee was always on. A meal was often just about ready and if not, she effortlessly prepared what she had on hand. She was ready anytime, mornings through late evenings and all were welcome. Hardly anyone ever called ahead, everyone knew there was just an open invitation to stop by anytime. Frances loved to play any card game and any board game. Together with Gene, they loved dancing with their friends in Yuma. Frances was especially proud of her new home in Yuma. Her new home was well equipped for sharing and entertaining friends and family. Frances will be great missed by all who knew and loved her.
