Francisco "Frank" Gimenez

Frank, 87, of Pasco died very peacefully on January 27th, 2025 of congestive heart failure at Parkside Adult Care Home. "Tio Paco", lovingly known by nieces, nephews, and some neighbors and friends was born in Undues Pintano, Spain on November 13, 1937. His parents were Francisco Gimenez and Felisa Malle. He came to the United States in 1955 to work as a sheepherder for his uncle, Lazaro Gorrindo, in Lancaster, California. He attended Antelope Valley High School for a short time and then went into the US Army and was based in Fairbanks, Alaska in 1962. Upon returning to California, Frank enrolled in barber school and worked as a barber in South East Los Angeles. He met Juliana Giraldina "Geri" on a double date and after a short courtship, they were married on May 29, 1966. They lived in an apartment in Lynnwood, CA, and had their first son Frank Steven in 1967. After realizing that raising a family in LA was not desirable, they first moved to Lancaster CA and then later Pasco, WA in 1971, and shortly after their second son, James Robert was born. After several hard-working years on the family farm growing alfalfa and boomloading hay bales, Frank was faced with a very hard decision to stop farming due to severe arthritis in his knees. He returned to barbering in Connell, WA, and there became known as "Frank the Barber". Frank and Geri decided to move to their "retirement home" in Pasco in 1996 and enjoyed playing golf 6 days a week. They took trips to Australia & Spain and Frank barbered part-time in Pasco. He also volunteered at Lourdes Hospital for several years and after barbering for 50 years he hung up the clippers and shears.

He is preceded in death by his father, Francisco, his mother, Felisa, his brother, Salvador "Sal", his sister, Nuria, and his wife, Geri. Frank is survived by his sons, Frank Steven and James (Elena) Gimenez; and his beloved grandsons, Michael, Jonathan, and David.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 29th at 11:00 am at St Paul's Catholic Church, 14181 N Glade Rd., Eltopia, WA with a hearty reception to follow immediately. A Rosary service will be held on Friday, March 28th at 6:00 pm. Graveside services will be held at City View Cemetery in Pasco at a later date, attended by immediate family only.

Funeral arrangements were conducted by Einan's at Hillcrest-Pasco.
