Freya Charlene Chambers, originally from Seattle, Washington, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2023 in Richland, Washington at the age of 86. She was born in Seattle on March 28, 1936 to her parents Charles and Freya Blazer. Charlene married Dean Chambers on May 23, 1959, and together, they had two children: Karen and Kristie. They raised their children in Lake Oswego, where she also had a thriving floral business. She was passionate about creating beautiful arrangements for all kinds of special occasions. This love continued as a hobby seen in her beloved gardens, which she tended with great care. She was invested in her tennis, both on and off the court, and was an avid bridge player. Later, she moved to Redmond, Oregon, where she was a member of the Lutheran Zion Church. Charlene was a volunteer for Redmond Hospice and the Redmond Hospital where she participated for 19 years in decorating Christmas Trees for the Hospice Christmas auctions with her friends. She had a great love of movies and movie theater popcorn with extra butter, especially if those movies included Doris Day or John Wayne. Her love of animals extended to all, even for the deer who ate her flowers. Her special attention went to her family's dogs, Toby and Joey as well as all the birds that stopped by in her yard. In her later years, Charlene loved playing Kings in the Corner and Dominoes every night or watching her favorite movie, How to Lose a Guy in 10 days. You could hear her contagious laugh throughout the whole movie. She particularly loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends, and will be greatly loved and missed. She was proceeded in death by her father, mother and husband. Charlene is survived by Karen Hackenberg and husband Ron, Kristie Obermeyer and husband Todd, as well as grandchildren Emily and Erik Obermeyer.
