George Marvin Nelson Jr passed away on January 4, 2017. Marv was born in Payson, Utah to his parents Clara Alexander and George Marvin Nelson Sr. He graduated high school at Spanish Fork High School. He attended Utah State University and Salt Lake School of Electronics receiving an Associate of Art degree. Marv worked at Boeing from 1961-1995 and also served two years in the U.S. Army West Germany. He married Janice (Gomsrud) Tappan in 1975. They have one son, George Marvin Nelson III (Marie), three daughters: Prima Bowers (Kirk), Susan Proszek (Jeffrey) and Sara Nelson. Marv and Janice in 2000, moved to Pasco, WA, where he gave up rain and escaped to the desert. He and his wife served as Regional Missionaries at the Kennewick Employment Center. Marv enjoyed genealogy, traveling and gardening. Marv is preceded in death by his parents; brother Richard (Ilene) and sister Mary Lee Bird (Bud). His brothers Michael Nelson (Carla), Steve Nelson (Sara) and sister Janet Tuttle (Steve) are living in Utah. He has eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was buried at City View Cemetery in a private family graveside rite.
