Germaine M
Reed
Aug 11, 1930 — Mar 2, 2023
Our loving mother and grandmother Germaine (Gerry) M. Reed, peacefully joined her family in heaven on March 2nd, 2023 at the age of 92. Gerry was born on August 11, 1930 in Dyersville, Iowa, to her parents Matthew and Eleanor Nadermann. Growing up with 10 other siblings, she was most known for her kindness, love of family and loyalty. In her personal life, Gerry was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She married Bob, the love of her life, in 1949 in New Orleans. Together they raised two children in Burbank, WA, their daughter Rhonda and son Kevin. She was a loving and supportive mother and grandmother, who always put her family first. Especially her most special granddaughter Kimberly. She also was a very special "adopted" mother to Terry and Teresa Vojta, as well as grandmother to their children Brandy, Jordan, Dusty and Amy. Gerry was also an active member of the Burbank community throughout her life, working as the janitor the Columbia Elementary school. She was especially known for always being seen tending to her meticulous garden, being a handy-woman of all trades and chatting with many of her friends who were always visiting. In her later years, Gerry enjoyed spending time with her family. She remained sharp and engaged until the end of her life, and her wisdom and kindness will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her children and grandchildren remember her fondly for her warm hugs, her delicious meals, and her unwavering love. Gerry is survived by her daughter Rhonda, her brother Tommy, her beloved dog Roxy, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob, son Kevin and granddaughter Kimberly. A private service for Gerry will be held at Columbia River Cemetery, 224 S. 24th Ave, Pasco, on Saturday March 11, 2023 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Chaplaincy Hospice House of Kennewick.
