Glenwood William "Clint" McGeorge, 87, of Richland, Washington, passed away on April 26, 2026.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, to Virginia and Glenn McGeorge, Clint was the oldest of four boys. His childhood was shaped by a spirit of adventure and service. While his father commanded a Coast Guard station, Clint experienced the unique privilege of growing up surrounded by the Great Lakes and military life. Watching his father pilot a variety of vessels instilled in him a lifelong respect for those who serve and inspired his own dedication to the United State Navy.

As an adolescent, Clint immersed himself in Chicago's world-class museums, cultivating a lifelong love of history, books, and learning. After his family relocated to Holland, Michigan, and later Grand Haven, he developed a deep appreciation for nature through countless trips to Michigan's Upper Peninsula and Wisconsin, where family vacations sparked his passion for the outdoors.

Following high school, Clint enlisted in the United State Navy, where he quickly distinguished himself through hard work, leadership, and determination. During his early Naval career, he proudly served aboard several legendary aircraft carriers, including the USS Coral Sea, USS Hancock, USS Constellation, USS Forrestal, and USS Midway, among others. His service took him to nearly every corner of the world, giving him a lifetime of experiences and memories while proudly serving his country. He excelled in a variety of roles, including maintaining aircraft catapults and arresting gear, and his exceptional performance led to his rapid promotion to Petty Officer First Class (E-6) in just six years. His outstanding abilities earned him selection for Naval Aviation flight training in Pensacola, Florida.

Clint went on to serve as a Naval Aviator during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968, flying with Attack Squadrons VA-127 and VA-155. During two combat tours, he flew 206 combat missions over North Vietnam and during the course of his naval career completed thousands of aircraft carrier landings under some of the most demanding conditions imaginable. His courage, determination, and extraordinary skill earned him the Distinguished Flying Cross along with 23 Air Medals. Clint often reflected that during the moments when enemy fire surrounded him, he felt God's protection guiding him safely home.

After Vietnam, Clint was assigned to the Navel Air Test Facility in Lakehurst, New Jersey, where he served as a test pilot for two and a half years. It was there that he met Jan, the love of his life. Their marriage began a partnership that would span decades of military service and family life. Together they lived in New Jersey, Virginia, Texas, California, and several communities throughout Washington State.

Clint eventually transferred to Whidbey Island so his children could grow up in the Pacific Northwest he loved. Serving with an EA-6B Electronic Warfare Squadron and later as Base Security Officer at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, he completed a distinguished 26-year Navy career, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Commander (LCDR).

Never one to stop learning, Clint earned his business degree with honors from Western Washington University after retiring from the Navy, yet his passion for flying remained strong. Encouraged by a friend, he interviewed with Alaska Airlines and began a second career flying regional routes throughout the Pacific Northwest and Canada. He retired from commercial aviation in 1998 before beginning a third career in information technology with Firstline Business Systems, where he worked for thirteen years before fully retiring.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Clint's greatest joy came from the simple pleasures of life. He loved hiking, camping, cross-country skiing, photography, fly fishing Yellowstone's trout streams, and exploring the country in their camper. He especially treasured dirt biking and motorcycle adventures with his son, Glen, and long hikes and thoughtful conversations about history, politics, and life with his daughter, Heather.

Above all else, Clint cherished his family and the beauty of God's creation. Whether watching a brilliant sunset, admiring a mountain vista, or enjoying the stillness of the wilderness, he found peace and gratitude in the natural world. His quiet faith in God, unwavering integrity, and optimistic spirit were the foundation of his life and the example he left for those who knew him.

Clint is survived by his devoted wife, Jan McGeorge; his daughter, Heather Ross; his son Glen McGeorge; his granddaughters, Ava Ross and Aryah McGeorge; and his brother, Kim McGeorge.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, Naval officer, pilot, outdoorsman, and friend. His legacy of courage, faith, and love will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
