Gloria Campbell was born in Kennewick, WA, on March 26, 1964, the fifth of seven children to Reid Davis Campbell and Muriel Leavitt. She passed away September 19, 2026, at home with her sisters after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer.

Gloria attended schools in Kennewick. She took Cooperative Office Education starting her sophomore year of high school where she learned many administrative and clerical skills, and excelled in the program. She was hired at Georgia Pacific in Pasco through the program, and worked for them until the second semester of her senior year when they moved their headquarters to Portland, OR. She graduated from Kennewick High school in 1982.

Gloria attended Ricks College in Rexburg, ID, and graduated in April, 1987, with a degree in Landscape Management/Horticulture, having the desire to pursue floral design which was not offered at Ricks College at the time. She interned at Western Garden Center and Gift Shop in downtown Salt Lake City, UT, then worked at Mitchell’s Nursery and Clover Club/Borden Foods in Salt Lake City, UT.

Gloria moved back to Kennewick in 1995 and was hired through Kelly Temporary Services to take and transcribe dictation for the administration at Bechtel National, falling back on the skills she learned in high school. Bechtel hired her permanently as an administrative assistant. Gloria worked for Bechtel National for 25 years and advanced in her position to Project Controls/Deliverables. She retired from Bechtel and was presented with a Rolex watch from them upon retirement.

After retiring from Bechtel, Gloria was hired for a short time by RC Engineering as a black badge subcontractor until their contract ended at the Hanford site. From there, she was recruited by Mission Support Alliance (MSA) and continued to work in Project Controls/Deliverables.

In 2021, Gloria transitioned to work for Hanford Mission Integration Solutions (HMIS) when MSA’s contract ended. Through the COVID pandemic and her illness, she was blessed to be able to work from home, though she missed the contact and connection with her group. Gloria continued to work part time until August 20, 2026, one month before her passing.

Gloria was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and had an unshakable testimony of the gospel, of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and of our Heavenly Father’s eternal plan of happiness. She held many callings, and worked in the Primary, Young Women’s, Sunday School, and Relief Society organizations.

Gloria was gifted with many talents, and was extremely generous. She took a genuine interest in others and showed Christ-like love as she provided help, support, encouragement, and service to those around her.

Gloria loved flowers and became very proficient with floral arranging, fulfilling one of her dreams. She made bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, center pieces, and archways for many weddings, and other occasions, and produced beautiful results. She had an eye for decorating and at one point wanted to be an interior designer. She was a talented crafter and dabbled with sewing and cake decorating.

Gloria had a wonderful singing voice. She participated in chorus in elementary and middle school, and was a member of the Mad Hatters choir in High school. She participated in many vocal competitions, and was awarded “Best Alto Voice” at one of them. She sang in a quartet at her high school graduation ceremony.

Gloria was a light that shined brightly. She carried a spirit of positivity and gratitude that was obvious and noticed by all who came in contact with her. Even some of her healthcare providers commented, and documented in her medical record, that her spirit and attitude was refreshing and inspirational to them.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Reid and Muriel Campbell, and brother-in-law, Kenneth Wayne McGuffey, Jr. She is survived by her siblings, David (Linda) Campbell, JoAnn (Ted) Claybrook, Marcia (Juan) Garza, Joyce McGuffey, Sharon (Randy) Perkes, and Nancy (Brad) Ekstrom, numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and her beloved dog, Lucy.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 10:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint: 820 S. Buntin Street, Kennewick, WA, 99336. Interment immediately following at Desert Lawn Memorial Park: 1401 S. Union Street, Kennewick, WA, 99338. Einan’s at Hillcrest in Kennewick are providing arrangements.
