Gloria "Jane" Pechin, 79, of West Richland, WA, formerly of Lafayette, IN, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2013. She was born on March 8, 1934, in Lafayette, IN, to John A. and Thelma Bates. Gloria married the love of her life, John H. Pechin Sr. in 1954, and they lived together in Lafayette, IN, where they raised five children. In 2006, Gloria moved to West Richland to in 2006 be closer to her daughters. As a young girl, Gloria grew up near Columbia Park in Lafayette, where she enjoyed swimming and roller skating. Gloria graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1952. After high school, she attended and graduated from the Lafayette School of Cosmetology. She also worked in several industries in Lafayette and finished her career at General Foods. Gloria was a member of the St. Lawrence Parish. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was an avid reader. She enjoyed collecting antiques and designer vintage jewelry and loved to go to yard sales looking for treasures. Gloria also loved to travel and spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gloria will be deeply missed by her family. She is survived by her children: Jane McKinney, Patricia A. "Patty" Pechin, and Josephine "Jody" Pechin, all of West Richland, WA; John H. Pechin Jr. Jacqueline of Bemidji, MN; and Edward L. Pechin of Lafayette, IN. Grandchildren: Brandon L. Stacey Pechin of Meridian, ID; Leisha K. Pechin fianc�e, Jim F. Gallina of Brookston, IN; Michael E. Kayla Pechin of Lafayette, IN; and Sean M. McKinney of West Richland, WA and Rachel Alexander of Bemidji, MN . Great-Grandchildren: Carter L. Pechin, Mason M. Pechin and soon to be great-grandchildren Jared and Kaila Gallina. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents and husband, her sister Charlotte Shuck, and brothers Thomas "Tom" and John Bates. A private graveside service will be held on April 27, 2013 in Lafayette Indiana at St. Boniface Cemetery.
