Our Mother was born Grace Marie Kuck in Hoboken New Jersey to Albert and Florence Kuck she had an older half-sister Dorothy, a half-brother George and older brother Paul. Paul and Grace stayed close all through the years talking on the phone many times a week. She never knew Dorothy as she had already moved away before she was born, but as a kid she idolized George. She and Paul were much closer in age and had many friends in common. When Paul left to join the service, Mom had to quit school at 14 to help her parents make ends meet. She tried to go back to school at 17 but then got Scarlett fever and had to quit again. Our mom had 3 loves in her life the first was Edward DiGiacomo He was a forbidden love that She was never allowed to be with however she never forgot him and would still speak of him from time to time. Her second was the love of her youth our Father Roger Leroy Blackmer The two of them had a whirlwind romance they got married just weeks after meeting they raise 5 daughters they traveled all over the country this love would be the one that shared all the trials and tribulations of life working, raising a family, building a home, learning to sew clothes, cook, can, freeze, shoot and everything else about making a life. They never forgot to take time out to have fun they were incredible dancers one of my favorite memories was of our mom and dad dancing around the room every time Lawrence Welk came on. They were also equally graceful out on the skating rink I loved to see mom dancing while she was skating. She enjoyed it all camping, boating, skiing, and especially being in the desert under those amazing stars singing songs. The two of them remained inseparable for 26 1/2 years until his death in 1976. After his death mom decided it was her time to do something for herself, so she went back to school and not only graduated from high school but attended many college classes she did woodworking, where she made the cabinets that are still in their house today, she painted and did upholstery. She had many hidden talents. Her third love was the love of her golden years Marion Mackey the two of them spent a year traveling all over Southeast Asia. They traveled back and forth across the county visiting their grandchildren and later even great-grandchildren. They opened a Scuba School and taught many people how to scuba dive. They also taught American Red Cross CPR and First Aid. They belonged to many clubs The VFW and The VFW Ladies Auxiliary were their main priority, but they were also big in the American Legion, Kiwanis, and Abate motorcycle club. The two of them did everything together until he died 2 days short of their 30th anniversary. We would sometimes laugh because they always dressed to match. So, it was no surprise that when it was time for her to leave this world that she would die on the exact same day as Marion. Just to make sure they matched. She was an amazing woman, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother she had an inner strength that far surpasses most. She is survived by her brother Paul Kuck (Margarete), daughters Linda Evaro (Jim), Marcia Downes, Holly Tincher, Marie Nash (Bob), Alberta Redwing (Troy). Grandchildren Christopher and James Downes, Andrea Burden (Rob), Nathan Nash (Kris), Nicholas Blackmer (Tammy), Jonathan Tincher, Jacob Redwing (Brittney), Linlee Andrew (George), Terry Redwing (Samantha), nephew Donald Joseph (Joanne), niece, Rosita Carie, great-niece, Janet Lockwood, and 17 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Florence Kuck, Grandmother Marie Kuck, half-brother George, half-sister Dorothy, Aunt Emmagene, first husband Roger Blackmer, second husband Marion Mackey, and grandson Michael Tincher. She will be loved, missed, thought of always, and never forgotten she will live on in our hearts and memories because she is ours
