Hubert Aichele, 92, of Walla Walla, WA, passed away at home on June 30, 2023, surrounded by his family.

He was born on March 30, 1931, to Jacob and Amelia (Eckert) Aichele in Robinson, N.D.

When he was 17, he met the love of his life, Nancy L. Leonard and they married on July 30, 1950. In August of 1951, Wayne was the first born of 7 children, followed by Stephen, Daniel, Dorothy, Pamela, Todd, and Terri.

He joined the U.S. Navy in May 1951 and retired April of 1972 as a Chief Petty Officer. Upon retiring from the service, he moved the family back to Walla Walla. In August of 1977, Hubert went to Western Baptist Bible College in Salem, OR and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Theology, and became a licensed minister in the Baptist church.

Hubert enjoyed fishing, woodworking, coaching his son's little league baseball teams, and putt putt golf.

Hubert is survived by his children Wayne (Sue), Stephen, Daniel (Julie), Dorothy (Bruce) Hey, Pamela (Scott) Massey, Todd, Terri (Marty) Hellberg. Brothers, Jacob Jr., Ervin, Larry. 29 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by his wife of 70 yrs. Nancy, his parents, 3 sisters, 6 brothers, a great-granddaughter and a great-great granddaughter.

There will be a graveside service at Columbia Memorial Gardens, 224 S. 24th St. Pasco, WA on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 11 a.m. A Celebration of life will be, August 12th at Pioneer Park, Walla Walla, WA, from 11-1.
