James Michael Grant, age 63, born March 20, 1954, passed away on January 12, the birthdate of his father who would have been 102, following an accident on December 27th. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Marianne Grant. He is survived by his siblings Sharon (Steve) Ghan, Ilene (Don) Hogaboam, Ron (Sumalee), Betty, and Bev (Eddie) Reed; nieces Shannon and Julia; nephews Eric, Marcus, and Toby; his aunt Mary (Grant) O'Neil; and many dear cousins. Jim was a free spirit who lived life on his own terms. He had so many dreams but an equal number of challenges. He loved music and dancing, card games, dogs, and working outdoors. Following his passions, he volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in Georgia and then hiked a section of the Appalachian Trail. Jim had a servant's heart. He was generous with his resources and time, helping out people in need of temporary housing, and volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul's food bank. He was a Laborer with the Union and worked for G.A. Grant Construction. He will be missed for his compassion, honesty, love of family, and lust for life. In his memory, donations are suggested to Habitat for Humanity, St. Vincent dePaul or NW Harvest. The family thanks Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane for their care of our brother in last days of his life. There will be a celebration of Jim's life on March 25th at Tri-Cities Prep High School in Pasco from 1:00-3:00.
