James F. O'Sullivan James F. O?Sullivan died on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at Tri-Cities Chaplaincy Hospice House in Kennewick, WA. Born in Renton, WA to parents, James and LaVera Sullivan. He was a person of adventure and diverse occupations. He served active duty in the Merchant Marines, which took him all over the world. He was self-employed as the publisher of the "Nome Nugget", Alaska's oldest newspaper. Jim and Jean owned and operated The Trading Post in Unalakleet, Alaska. He was an owner of a terminal in Valdez. Jim served under Govenor Jay Hammond as Deputy Commissioner of Transportation for the State of Alaska. He developed and put in place the bus system in Fairbanks, Alaska. His devotion and affiliation with Rotary continued throughout the time he was a resident of Alaska and during his retirement. James is survived by his wife, Jean O?Sullivan; son, James P. Marolich; daughter, Cindy Lou O?Sullivan; granddaughters, Casey and Anne; grandson, Jack; cousin, Doris Stephan. At Jim?s request, there will be no services.
