Obituary

James Walter Pentecost, 66, of the Tri-Cities, passed away on January 5, 2026, in Richland, Washington. He was born on January 1, 1960, in Pasco, Washington.

Jim spent much of his life in the Tri-Cities, living in the area for 50 years. During his working years, he worked as a carnival truck driver. Over the years he attended Christian church fellowships, most recently Crossview Community Church in Kennewick.

Jim loved sports and enjoyed collecting football and baseball jerseys. He was also a fan of car racing, which was one of his favorite things to watch. In his downtime, he enjoyed watching and rewatching Godzilla and King Kong movies. One of his favorite pastimes was fishing with his brother-in-law Jay, something he wished he had done more often.

Despite the many challenges life brought his way, Jim maintained a positive outlook. He reflected deeply on life and continued striving to move forward with hope and determination.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Barbara Pentecost; his birth mother, Carolyn Evans; and his sister, Lorna Petersen.

He is survived by his siblings: Joyce Perry (Jay), Bonnie Tobin, David Pentecost (Julie), Don Pentecost (Nicole). He's also survived by step children, Amanda Pence, Christopher Martin, Matthew Wainscott, Brittney Gucinski, Ryan Anderson, Chantel Anderson and Alicia Pierce in Arkansas where he spent approximately 15 years of his life.

James will be laid to rest on Saturday, May 9Th, 11am, at a graveside memorial service, City View Pasco Cemetery, 1300 N Oregon Ave. Pasco WA 99301. Please join the family afterwards for a barbeque, 8004 Wrigley Dr. Pasco WA.
