Mr. James E. "Jim" Setzer, 69, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023, at his home in Pasco, WA.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 20, 2023 4:00pm - 8:00pm at Hillcrest Memorial in Kennewick.
Jim's Celebration of Life will be Friday, July 21, 2023 3:00 PM at Calvary Chapel Tri-Cities (10611 W Clearwater Ave. Kennewick WA) with Pastor Matt Lewis officiating.
Jim was born December 4, 1953, in Kellogg, ID, to the late Hoyt Preston Setzer and Hazel Kaleiwahea. Jim is a 50-year veteran of the Auto Collision Repair Industry and dedicated part of his career to mentoring young adults. He was an expert in his field of car restoration. When he wasn't working he enjoyed working with horses, competing in team roping events and country dancing. Retirement never slowed him down his artistic craft switched gears to remodeling homes and you could often find him on his boat fishing, if he wasn't fishing he was planning on fishing. If his television was on, he was sure to be watching a Fox News or Lonesome Dove. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters Kathy Thornbury and her husband Keith Thornbury, Velma Krone and her husband Larry Krone, and his brother Tim Hunter; preceded in death by his brother, Bill Setzer and sister Thelma Hunter.
Jim is survived by his wife of 18 years, Marilyn Sue Setzer. Jim and Marilyn resided in Pasco,WA and attended Faith Tri-Cities. Together they treasured visits from their children and grandchildren, that always brought them great joy. Jim is survived by his daughters Shawna Brady and her husband James Brady, Wendi Finkbeiner and her husband Kris Finkbeiner, Shelba Marthe and her husband Greg Marthe, Kristal Stroh and her husband Hoyt Stroh, Brooke Durkee and her husband Alex Durkee, Lindsay Kelly an her husband David Kelly, Virginia Hunter, Rose Wilson, Areli McCay and her husband Joshua McCay, Rose Setzer, and his sons, Brandon Longanecker and his
