Obituary

Janice was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on December 2nd 2018 at the age of 94. She was born on July 9th 1924 in Oakland California. Her life was filled with a desire to serve her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She lived as a child through the depression and then the sudden death of her mom at the age of 9. When a lady in the neighborhood saw the aloneness of this little girl she began taking her to Melrose Baptist church where Janice found the love and grace of Jesus. At the age of 16 she began working at a local bank when her dad and older brother served our country during WWII. At the age of 19 she met Elliott Paulsen at the Military outreach ministry of Melrose Baptist Church. They were soon married as Elliott left to also serve in the U.S. Army. After the war and several years working at the F.B.I. they sold everything and traveled to So. Ca. to prepare for fulltime ministry. They served the Lord together at a church in San Pedro, CA for 5 years and then 28 years at Fairway Park Baptist church in Hayward, CA. Janice loved her family, loved God's Word, loved intercessory prayer for others, and loved the time she had with many friends through the years. She taught Sunday School, Release time classes, Bible classes at American Heritage Christian School, Vacation Bible School, Women's Bible Studies and Staff Bible Studies at Mt. Hermon Christian Conference Center in Felton Ca after their retirement. She also loved to do oil paintings which has blessed many through the years.
