Jesse U. Greenough, Jr., age 96, passed away on May 1, 2025, surrounded by his family. Jesse was born on December 10, 1928, in Norris, South Dakota and raised in Yakima, WA area. His childhood was full of family and friends. In his younger years he loved fishing, hunting and any activity that challenged his mind to determine a means to an end with limited supplies. He lived a life of adventure and exciting challenges. Jesse had four children from his first marriage to Charlette and later married Nancy Kay Miles/Strom., who had three children. Jesse and Nancy worked hard to provide a safe and healthy home for their children. They ran successful businesses together, and were dedicated to achieving academic success as artists, all while pursuing their passion of sailing the ocean off the Washington coast.

Jesse was a successful quality control engineer, businessperson and artist in sculpture, bronze and painting. He was very enthusiastic about all the projects he endeavored in his lifetime. Jesse and Nancy built a beautiful home with a shop and art studio customized to their passions.

Jesse and Nancy loved long drives through many different states and Canada including a trip to beautiful Vermont.

Jesse is survived by his sons and daughters: Jesse Greenough III, Mike Greenough Sr, Michelle Harden, Randy Strom, Trish TrickiT, Billy Jo Cole, 17 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and his brother Steve Greenough and sister Kathy Robinson.

He has joined his deceased wife Nancy, bothers Keith, Irvin and Cecil, along with his daughter Floy in heaven to sail the heavenly oceans and paint our night skies.

There will be an open house celebration of life Sunday, May 4, 2025, at their home in Kennewick, WA for family and close friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

We will dearly miss him.
