Obituary

John Lewis King Holzendorf returned to his loving Heavenly Father and into the waiting arms of his mother, on the morning of December 10, 2023. Born in Newport News, Virginia on February 4, 1964, he was the second son and third child of William Frank Holzendorf and Barbara Garrett Holzendorf. John brought joy and warmth to everyone he met. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, neighbor and friend. He is deeply missed by all who know him.

As a young boy, John was a talented athlete, and could be found high in the coconut trees and the tops of light poles, or on a roof. He had a charisma that made all the neighborhood kids want to play with him. John got into a lot of fights at school, but more often than not, he was defending someone he thought was wronged.

After graduating high school, John met his lifelong sweetheart Brianne Michelle Holzendorf, whom he later married. Together they had one child and two grandchildren who he adored. He told everyone how proud he was of his family. John was a certified electrician. In his later years, he loved his maintenance jobs at All Saints Lutheran Church and Windson School.

John was gifted with seeing the best in people and was accepting of all. When he was not working, he loved riding his Harley, gardening, was always willing to help others and had a special place in his heart for his "kitties". He had many struggles in his life which he fought valiantly to overcome.

John's indomitable spirit lives on in his family, who will always cherish the memories they shared together.

He is survived by his wife, Brianne Michelle Holzendorf, their son Erik Loyd Holzendorf, grandchildren Theadore and Jackson, his father, William Holzendorf, siblings Kathy Whipple, Bill Holzendorf Jr., Courtney Holzendorf, Keolani Wisdom, Kirstin Mercer and countless cousins, nephews and nieces.

As we remember John, let us cherish his unwavering love for his family, his steadfast commitment to friends and neighbors, and his ability to bring light and laughter into every room he entered. John's life will be celebrated on Wednesday December 20, 2023 at 1:00PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 4445 S. Olympia St., Kennewick, Washington

We invite you to share your memories of John and upload cherished photos to his memorial page so we may all remember the wonderful man he was, and the impact he had on our lives.
