We lost a great man on December 24, 2012. John J. Noble, III, of Kennewick, WA, passed away after a brief battle with cancer. Jack was born June 15, 1948 to John and Mary Noble in Boston, Massachusetts. When Jack was 6 his family moved to Garden Grove, CA where he grew up, met his future wife DeeDee, and graduated from Westminster High School in 1966. Jack continued on to attend Golden West College and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Jack and DeeDee were married June 26, 1971. Throughout their early years together they spent much of their time at the beach or going on camping trips. In December 1975 their daughter Jan was born but that never stopped them from going on their traveling adventures. Jack and DeeDee found much enjoyment sharing their favorite places with her. In 1978 the family of three started a new adventure when they moved to the Tri-Cities and have remained since. Jack was always an avid outdoorsman but discovered new interests in freshwater fishing and hunting. He spent much of his time fishing the rivers of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Canada as well as hunting pheasant, ducks, geese, and deer. In addition to being an outdoorsman, Jack enjoyed the many hours he spent volunteering as a firefighter with the B.C.F.D. #1. Jack could also be found in section S, row 17, seat 1 at the Toyota Center watching the Tri-City Americans. He was a season ticket holder from the team's inception and refused to sit anywhere else in the coliseum. His love of the outdoors continued when Jack and DeeDee built "Acorn Lodge" their cabin outside of Goldendale, WA. He spent many hours relaxing with friends and family enjoying the beauty the area had to offer. Jack's greatest joy, however, came on August 23, 2003 when his grandson Carson was born. Carson could get Grandad to do just about anything for him. The two spent many hours working on an electric train set together and Jack never wanted to miss one of Carson's hockey games. One of the best times Jack had was a fishing trip he went on with his son-in-law, Chris, and Carson to Westport, WA in August. Chris and Carson were two of Jack's best fishing buddies. One of Jack's favorite sayings was "life is good" and it truly was for him. He had the opportunity to travel and see many wonderful places around the world but also appreciated being at home with his family and many friends. Jack is survived by his wife DeeDee, daughter Jan Walters, son-in-law, Chris, and grandson, Carson. A celebration of Jack's life will be held Wednesday January 9th at Goose Ridge Estates Winery on Dallas Rd. from 3 p.m.-6 p.m. In honor of Jack, wear your best aloha shirt!
