Jo had a way of making every child feel uniquely special, always celebrating their successes, comforting their challenges, and cheering their dreams.
Joline "Jo" Audrey Board, of Kennewick, Washington, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on November 10, 1940, Jo was the eighth of eleven children, a cherished daughter of Arthur and Audrey Brett. Her life was one marked by devotion, resilience, and unwavering love for the people around her.
Jo married the love of her life, Donald Clifford Board, and together they shared an extraordinary 62 years of marriage. Their bond was one of deep partnership and quiet strength, a foundation on which they built a family that meant everything to her.
She was a proud and loving mother to her four children: Pam (Denny), Cary (Lisa), Kathy (Joe), and Brett (Niccole). Her family grew to include nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, each one bringing her immeasurable joy. Jo had a way of making every child feel uniquely special, always celebrating their successes, comforting their challenges, and cheering their dreams.
A beloved sister, Jo now joins in heaven her parents Arthur and Audrey, and her siblings Robert, Margaret, Doug, Rosemary, Janice, Glen, and John, whose memories she carried lovingly throughout her life. She leaves behind her siblings Jerry (Chris), Dwight (Luci), and Rick, who will miss her deeply and remember her as a steady, caring presence within their large and lively family.
She had a remarkable gift for making others feel welcome and valued.
Jo's life was defined by kindness, a warm smile, and a quiet grace that touched everyone she met. Whether hosting family gatherings, offering encouragement, or simply listening with genuine care, she had a remarkable gift for making others feel welcome and valued.
A memorial service honoring Jo's life will be held Saturday, November 7 at 11:00 am at Kennewick First United Methodist Church, 421 West Kennewick Ave, Kennewick, WA.
Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
